Volunteering

Volunteer welcome

If you’re on this page, you’ve probably already met us to talk about volunteering with Fiertés Colorées—either one-on-one in a meeting or at a volunteer welcome session. If not, don’t hesitate to get in touch!

These documents contain a lot of information. They might feel a bit dense at first, but they should answer many of the questions you might have.

My commitments as a volunteer :

  • I commit to respecting the confidentiality of the people we welcome and any information shared.

  • I adopt a kind, non-judgmental attitude toward everyone.

  • I report any issues or concerning situations to the association’s committee.

  • I participate according to my availability, without feeling pressured.

  • I respect the horizontal structure of the organization and the voice of each volunteer.

  • I uphold the values and principles of the association (see below).

What Fiertés Colorées commits to doing :

  • Welcoming you into a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space.

  • Respecting you, your boundaries, your time, and your availability.

  • Supporting you in your volunteer activities.

  • Listening to your feedback and taking it into account in decisions.

  • Ensuring your safety and providing coverage through insurance.

  • Reimbursing any expenses you incur for the association (with receipts).

By becoming a volunteer, I agree to this charter.

Our values

Fiertés Colorées is the LGBTI+ center of Rouen. We work towards the flourishing and support of LGBTI+ individuals as a whole, and we fight against discrimination in Rouen and its region.

We are an LGBTI+ association. While Fiertés Colorées is non-partisan (it does not show affiliation or support for any political party), we are political.
We are a feminist, intersectional, and left-leaning association.

We take a stand against racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, fatphobia, imperialism, sex work stigma, xenophobia, and more.
We advocate for full bodily autonomy for everyone and actively oppose the far right.

Empathy, kindness, respect, tolerance, and civility are also key values for us.

These values shape who we are, and it is important that our volunteers respect them within the association.

Opinions or behaviours that contradict these values should not be expressed, either within the association or when acting as a volunteer representing the association.
