Trans, non-binary, and intersex support sessions

Meetings and support for transgender, non-binary, intersex, and questioning people.

What are trans and intersex support sessions?

These sessions are collective welcoming times for transgender, non-binary, intersex people, and people questioning their gender or intersex status, around tea, coffee, soda, or a glass of water. Accompanying people who aren't transgender, non-binary, intersex or questionning themselves are tolerated but must remain discreet.

Sessions place twice a month at Diable au Corps:

  • 2nd Saturday of the month, from 3 PM to 5 PM
  • 4th Monday of the month, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

The idea is to have a time to share things, meet among peers, ask questions... in a caring, trans-friendly, and non-judgmental environment.

Two to three transgender volunteers are present to answer questions, oversee the session, and respond to any concerns.

It is possible to change clothing on-site.

How do they take place?

We welcome everyone on the 1st floor, and after about fifteen minutes, we start the session with a presentation of the place, the association, and a brief round of introductions (not mandatory, of course).

Always available to take for free:

  • binders
  • hormone injection supplies
  • documentation on medical and administrative transitions and sexual health

On a table on the ground floor, there are condoms freely accessible (internal and external, with and without latex, standard or XL sizes).

If there's a lot of people, we can split into two groups: one for those who come only to socialize, down to the ground floor, and one for people who have questions and need information on the first floor. In this case, it is of course perfectly okay to move between floors as you wish.

At the end of the session, volunteers tidy up the place and sweep: thank you for taking care of the Diable au Corps.

Is it necessarily in a group?

No!

Our volunteers can offer a more private discussion, for:

  • a transgender, non-binary, intersex, or questioning person
  • a transgender, non-binary, intersex or questionning person's loved one(s) to give them information, answer their questions, etc
  • or any other person who might need or want information

These discussions can take place:

  • upon request during the support sessions, in another room on the 2nd floor (no need to notify us before coming)
  • at any other time, in any of the Diable au Corps' rooms, after talking about this by email to find a date and time that suit you.
